“Rockwell—Mrs. Nellie Amendt, 84, died Thursday at her home. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Patterson James Murphy Chapel.
The Rev. R. Lewis Jones, Interim pastor of the First Congregational Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Rockwell Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel after noon Sunday and until the time of services.
Born April 4, 1888 in Mason City, she was the daughter of Edward and Karen (Nelson) Burr. She was a member of the First Congregational Church and the Rockwell Womens’ Club.
She is survived by a son, George B. Asleson, Charles City; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Nancy) Mulford, Park Forest, Ill.; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Nancy Peterson, Rockwell; Mrs. Mable Miller, Sierra Madre, Calif; and Mrs. Dorothy Christensen, Oroville, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, George A. Asleson, in 1916, and by her second husband, Charles Amendt, in 1948,a daughter and one brother.”
