“Clear Lake—Funeral services for Carl Harris, 67, who died suddenly at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Emma Ball, one mile west of Ventura, Wednesday morning, will be held at Ward’s funeral home Friday afternoon at 1 o’clock.
The body will be taken to Webster City where graveside services will be held at Cass Center cemetery north of town at 3 o’clock.
Mr. Harris, who suffered a stroke from which he did not recover, March 11, died of a heart attack. He had been in failing health several years.” (Mason City Globe Gazette, April 24, 1941, pg 15)
