MASON CITY — William A. “Willy” Frank, 75, of 923 Seventh St. S.E. in Mason City, died Sunday afternoon (May 4, 2008) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at the Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery, 1224 S. Washington Ave. in Mason City, with the Rev. Kenneth B. Gehling officiating.

No public visitation is planned prior to the graveside service at Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery.

Those wishing to extend memorials or expressions of sympathy may direct them to the William A. Frank Memorial Fund in the care of his wife, Evelyn Frank, 923 Seventh St. S.E., Mason City, IA 50401.

William Adam Frank, the son of Clement and Mary (Rupp) Frank, was born on Feb. 25, 1933, in Mason City. He was baptized at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Mason City and was the youngest of 13 children born to his parents. Throughout the years, William was fondly known as “Willy” by most of his relatives and friends.

On Aug. 29, 1949, in Albert Lea, Minn., William was united in marriage to Evelyn June Hoffman. Willy and Evelyn enjoyed dancing in their earlier years and became the busy parents of six children.

Willy took great pride in providing for his family. He was employed for over 30 years at the Armour Meat Packing Co. (Deckers) in Mason City, retiring in 1983.

Some of Willy’s interests and hobbies included restoring antique cars, tending to his garden and yard, playing the guitar in a local band in his earlier years, traveling, going for rides and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church.

Willy is survived by his wife, Evelyn Frank; his four daughters, Sandy Frank of Altoona, Penny Frank and Mindy Smith of Mason City. and Jodi (Marty) Tagesen of Onalaska, Wis.; his 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two sisters and two brothers.

Preceding Willy in death were his parents, Clement and Mary Frank; his two sons, Terry and Ken Frank; and five sisters and three brothers.
