John C. Frank was born Nov. 23, 1925, in Mason City. He was the son of Clemens and Mary (Rupp) Frank. He attended Mason City Schools and served his country during World War II in the Navy.

He married Shirley Jean Fletcher on Feb. 3, 1945, and to this union four children were born. John worked 43 years for Northwestern States Portland Cement Co. as a laborer, foreman, and shipping supervisor.

John enjoyed many outdoor activities, including yard work, gardening, golf, fishing and hunting. He spent most of his time with his family and friends, often helping with family projects.

He especially enjoyed time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was a member of the American Legion for over 60 years and was a long-time member of Holy Family Catholic Church.
