Friday, January 28, 2005DENVER, Colo. -- Kathleen J. Fournier was born on Oct. 29, 1957, to LeRoy & Geraldine (Raveling) Fournier in Mason City, Iowa. She passed away at home in Denver, Colo., on Jan. 22, 2005.
Kathy graduated from Mason City High School in 1976 and received a BA in accounting at Central College in Pella, Iowa, where she graduated suma cum laude. She has lived in Denver since 1994. Prior to that, Kathleen lived in Steam-boat Springs and worked as a CFO for Rhoutt Memorial Hospital from 1988 to 1994, Waverly Municipal Hospital in Waverly, Iowa, from 1982 to 1988, and Blue Cross Blue Shield in Des Moines, Iowa, from 1980 to1982.
Kathy enjoyed her cats and loved to bake cookies, candies and treats for her friends. She recently had been doing volunteer work at the Denver VA hospital where she received her 500-hour volunteer pin. Kathleen liked spending time with her nieces and nephews and enjoyed watching their sporting events. She also enjoyed watching TV and e-mailing her family.
Kathleen is survived by her mother, Jerri Fournier of Mason City; brothers, Michael D. (Karleen) Fournier of Belmond, Bruce A. (Sandi) Fournier of Mason City and Keith F. (Diane) Fournier of Bonifay, Fla.; and sister, Karen M (Dave) Swanson of Brighton, Colo.
Kathleen is preceded in death by her father, LeRoy, in 1981; grandparents, Alfred and Cecilia Fournier, John Schmillen, Roy and Loraine Raveling and Ada and Harry Sullivan.
A private memorial service was held at Tabor Funeral Home in Brighton, Colo.
Family and friends are invited to an open house in Kathy's memory from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, at 412 14th St., N.W., Mason City.
