Monday, May 15, 2000MASON CITY - Lillian A. Flatness, 91, of 1315 Third St. N.W., died Friday (May 12, 2000) at USA Healthcare.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Kenneth Hatland officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.
Memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church or Hospice of North Iowa.
Lillian A. Flatness was born March 15, 1909, in Spillville, the daughter of Anton and Anna (Luckesh) Fisher. She attended Spillville schools. She moved to Mason City where she married Fred Rodas in 1942. He passed away during January 1970.
On April 12, 1977, Lillian was married to Henry Flatness. Lillian was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church and a member of the Elizabeth Church Circle. She was also a former member of the Sons of Norway.
Lillian is survived by her husband, Henry Flatness of Mason City; son, John Rodas and his wife, Delores, of Arlington, Va.; grandson, John A. Rodas, of Arlington, Va.; granddaughter, Patty Rodas, of Arlington, Va.; stepson, Ron Flatness and wife, Ragna, of Mason City; stepdaughter, Delores Low and husband, Allen, of Northwood; four sisters, Loretta Diehl of Mason City, Lucille Weland of Mason City, Leone Smith and husband, Richard, of Rochester, Minn., and Lorraine Nehls and husband, Larry, of Mason City; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, one infant daughter, a special niece and one brother in infancy.
