Mrs. Kathryn Loretta Finnigan, 48, Swaledale, died at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at a local hospital, following a short illness. She had been a lifelong resident of Cerro Gordo county.

Mrs. Finnigan was born April 27, 1897, near Cartersville, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James McCauley.

Surviving are her husband, Carroll Finnigan, 3 daughters, Mrs. Arden Evans, Des Moines; Mrs. Roger Cahalan, Mason City; and Betty Finnigan, at home; and 2 sons, Robert recently discharged from the army, and Richard, at home. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. J. McCauley, Swaledale, 2 sisters, Mrs. G. H. Weber, Mason City, and Mrs. H. E. Shafer, Des Moines; 3 brothers, Charles Layen, Mason City, Courtney McCauley, Mason City, and Robert McCauley, Swaledale; and 2 grandchildren, Kay Evans, Des Moines, and Joey Cahalan, Mason City, also survive.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, Billie.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a. m. at the St. Lawrence Catholic church, Swaledale with Father Francis Churchill officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Catholic cemetery in Mason City.
