LAKESIDE, Calif. -- Glenn C. Dickirson, 91, of Lakeside, Calif., died Tuesday (May 30, 1995) at El Cajon, Calif. The body was cremated. Neptune Society, Lakeside, Calif. was in charge of arrangements.

Glenn C. Dickirson was the grandson of James Dickirson who founded Clear Lake, Iowa. At one time the Dickirson family owned many lakeshore properties along Clear Lake.

He was the son of W.H. and Mary Dickirson of Clear Lake. He was born on March 5, 1904 in Thompson, Iowa. Clear Lake City Park was donated to the City of Clear Lake by the Dickirson family. Glenn Dickirson was a graduate of the University of Iowa and worked for J.C. Penney Company for 21 years. After leaving Penney's he opened a clothing (women's sportswear) shop in Waseca, Minn., and had that business until moving to California in 1958. He continued in the retail business until retiring at the age of 79.

He is survived by his wife, Terry; one daughter, Patricia Lyon of Minneapolis, Minn.; two sons, Richard J. Dickirson of Grand Prairie, Texas, and David Dickirson of El Cajon, Calif.; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his oldest son, James Dickirson.
