SIOUX FALLS, S.D.— Margaret (Zeigler) Cooper, 80, of Sioux Falls, S.D., formerly of Mason City, Iowa, died Sunday (July 20, 2003) at home.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Margaret Jane Cooper was born in Algona, Iowa; her family moved to Mason City, Iowa, in 1926 where Margaret lived for the next 20 years.

On March 7, 1943, she was married to Maurice Cooper and moved to Sioux Falls several years later where she raised her family – Janey, Gregory, Mary Beth and Nancy. Margaret was an active of the First Baptist Church and in P.E.O. where she served as chaplain for many years.

Margaret was also a bookkeeper for Maurice in his business at Graphic Arts of South Dakota. Her greatest enjoyments in life were her family, her home and yard, her bridge group, P.E.O. and church.

Surviving relatives include her children: Janey (Tim) Johnson, Sioux Falls; Gregory Cooper, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; Mary Beth Cooper, Georgetown, Delaware; Nancy Soccorso, West Palm Beach, Florida; her siblings: her twin sister, Mary Douglass, Hampton, Iowa; sister Beverly McClung, Edina, Minnesota; brother Dr. Paul Zeigler, San Diego, California; brother Dr. Myron Zeigler, Spirit Lake, Iowa; her grandchildren: Megan (Tom) Reidy, Minneapolis, Minnesota; Ryan Peterson, Sioux Falls; Lara Soccorso, West Palm Beach, Florida; Amy (Adam) Stockberger, Sioux Falls; Stacy Johnson, Sioux Falls. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Maurice.

Expressions of sympathy may be directed to the First Baptist Church, Children’s Inn, or a memorial of your choice.
