GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. -- Kelly Kay Chavez, 31, of 620 East Indian Creek, Grand Junction, died Saturday (Sept. 2, 1995) at her home.

The body was cremated. There will be a memorial service at 1:30 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 30, 1995) at St. John's Episcopal Church, 120 First St. N.E., Mason City, with Father Bob Towner officiating.

Callahan-Edfast Mortuary, 1250 E. Sherwood Drive, Grand Junction, is in charge of arrangements.

Kelly was born Dec. 10, 1963, in Mason City, Iowa, the daughter of Lloyd Donald Nedved and Mitzy Marlene Schulze Nedved.

She was raised in Mason City and graduated from Mason City High School. She also attended North Iowa Area Community College.

She was a registered nurse.

She had lived in Mason City, Iowa. She moved to Grand Junction, then to Snowmass, Colo., then back to Grand Junction in 1994.

She loved camping, skiing and the mountains.

She is survived by one son, Adam Ross Chavez of Mason City, Iowa; her mother, Mitzy Nedved and her stepfather, Wayne of Mason City; and her father, Lloyd Nedved and her stepmother, Pat of Nevis, Minn.; one brother, Donald Nedved and and his wife, Shawn Nedved, of Shawnee, Kan.; her maternal grandmother, Viola Schulze of Mason City, and paternal grandmother, Dorothy Nedved of Mason City; and numerous aunts, uncles and a nephew, Drew Nedved; and a special friend, Mike.
