Betty J. Simon Bohl, 61, of 5824 Red Pine Blvd., White Bear Lake, Minn., formerly of Mason City, died Monday (Jan. 8, 1996) at Whitehouse Healthcare Center, where she died peacefully.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 213 N. Pennsylvania Ave., with the Rev. John "Jack" Gannett officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., and one hour prior to services at the church.

Memorials may be given to the Betty J. Simon Bohl Memorial Fund.

Betty was born Feb. 1, 1934, in Mason City, the daughter of Jake and Marie (Borger) Alt. She attended schools in Mason City.

Betty married Dale E. Simon on Sept. 16, 1950, in Colorado Springs, Colo. Mr. Simon died in 1961.

On Dec. 3, 1966, Betty married Elvin "Snooks" Bohl. Mr. Bohl died in 1989.

Betty was a longtime resident of Mason City and worked for the Mason City School District in the cafeteria for a short period of time. She also worked as a housekeeper.

In 1990, Betty moved to White Bear Lake, Minn., to be near her daughter and family.

Betty had a longtime affiliation with Trinity Lutheran Church and Our Saviour's Lutheran Church. She was a member of the VFW Auxillary and Ladies of the Moose.

Betty was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Survivors include one daughter, Sharon Underwood and her husband, Michael, of White Bear Lake, Minn.; sons, Rick Simon of Rockford and Edward Simon and wife, Shelby, of Mason City; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Arlene Sweeney and her husband, Kenny, of Mason City; sister, Josephine Hall and her husband, Orville, of Minnesota; sister, Marie Royer and husband, Jack, of Minnesota; brother, Joseph Borger and wife, Thelma, of Mason City; sister, JoAnne Pierce and husband, Donavan, of Altoona; brother, Dennis Alt of Fertile; sisters, MaryLou Book of Fertile and Judy Alt of Hampton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Jake, Ernie, and George; and her two husbands.
