Mason City -- Margaret Carol (Fisher) Burgess, 76, of Mason City, was called home to her Savior on Tuesday (December 26, 2006) at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa, Mason City.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M.Tuesday (January 2, 2007) at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St NE, Mason City, with Major Lori Wright, of the Salvation Army, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral chapel, Tuesday.

Margaret was born November 4, 1930 at Dallas Center, Iowa to William and Effie (Banks) Fisher. Margaret attended school in Dallas Center. On October 14, 1950 she was united in marriage to Roscoe Burgess, Jr. They lived with their family at various homes in the surrounding area. Margaret worked as a cook at numerous cafes in the surrounding area.

Margaret loved spending time with her family. She loved babysitting her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and numerous other children that were considered part of her extended family. She enjoyed doing crafts, playing bingo, talking on the phone, and watching wrestling every time it was on TV. She attended the Salvation Army and was a member of their home league activity group.

Margaret had been a resident of USA Health Care Center since October 2000. She enjoyed being involved in the resident activities.

Margaret is survived by her children, Roxanne Burgess, Cindy (Randy) Cunningham, Julie Burgess (Jimmie Lee), Jim Burgess (Lisa) all of Mason City; daughter in-law Annie Burgess, Des Moines; grandchildren, Laura, Steven, Michelle (Allen), Keith, Johnny, Dalaina, LaTeya, Levi (Tiffany), Patricia; great-grandchildren, Cheyenne, Damon, Dakota, Jessmyn, Allen Jr,, Josephina, Brooklyn, Jaedyn, Khamari; sisters, Laura Smothers, Des Moines, Lena Howell, MO; brother, Wilson (Netta) Fisher, Dallas Center; brother-in –law, Jack Burgess (Deloris); sister in-law, JoAnne (Dan) Anderson; also numerous nieces and nephews and a special nephew Douglas Anderson (LuAnn); and lots of children whom she considered family and many other friends.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roscoe Burgess, Jr.; infant twins; infant daughter Carol Ann; daughter Jacqueline; son Steven; twin sister Marjorie and numerous brothers.
