MASON CITY -- Jacqueline Louise "Jackie" Burgess, 47, of 15 14th St. N.W., died Sunday (April 9, 2000) at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Hogan Bremer Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E. in Mason City, with Lieutenant Jon Augenstein and Brig. Ellis Bollwahn of the Salvation Army officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Mason City.

Visitation will be held from noon until time of services on Friday at the funeral chapel.

Jackie was born Nov. 26, 1952, in Mason City, daughter of Roscoe Jr. and Margaret (Fisher) Burgess. She lived with her family in the North Iowa area all of her life. She graduated from Northwood Kensett High School and also attended college in Iowa City for one and one half years.

Jackie enjoyed doing many different types of crafts, which she was proud to share with her family and friends. She also enjoyed taking care of and spending as much time as possible with her family, especially her nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

To share in the memory of Jackie is her mother, Margaret Burgess, of Mason City; three sisters, Roxann Burgess, Cindy Cunningham and her husband, Randy and Julie Burgess and Jimmie Stitts, all of Mason City; two brothers, Steve Burgess and his wife, Ann, of Des Moines and Jim Burgess and his special friend, Lisa Read, of Mason City; a close friend of the family, Ron Willis; a special friend in her heart, Allen LeBraye; six nieces and four nephews, Laura, Steven "Butch" (Jacquie), Keith (LeeAnn), all of Des Moines, Michelle (Allen), LaTeya, Dalaina, Levi, Syrita, Johnny, and Patricia, all of Mason City; four great-nieces and three great-nephews, Cheyenne, Dakota, Damian, Brooklyn, all of Des Moines, Jessmyn, Allen Jr. and Josephina, all of Mason City; a very special aunt and uncle, Jack and Delores Burgess, of Mason City; a god son, Bob Clute, of Clear Lake; three aunts, Betty (Spence) Steece and Lola (Martin) Boomgarden, of Mason City and JoAnn Anderson and her husband, Dan, of Clear Lake; and several cousins and friends.

Jackie was preceded in death by her father, Roscoe Burgess Jr.; an infant sister, Carol Ann; and uncles, Bob, Dale, Jerry and Lorenzo Burgess; and an aunt, June Eden.
