MASON CITY - Memorial services for Inez K. Brownell, 102, formerly of Mason City, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 100 First St. N.E., with the Rev. Richard Scheerer officiating. Private family inurnment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery prior to services at the church.

She died Jan. 9, 2000, in Bellaire, Texas.

HOUSTON, Texas - Inez K. Brownell, 102, passed away Sunday (Jan. 9, 2000) in Houston.

Memorial services will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, at the Bellaire United Methodist Church in Bellaire, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sanctuary Choir at Bellaire United Methodist Church.

She married John Raymond Brownell in June 1931 in Nashua, Iowa, at The Little Brown Church in the Vail, and was a teacher for 32 years, most of it in Mason City where she taught kindergarten. She moved to Houston in 1987 where she lived out the rest of her life.

She is survived by her daughters, Vesta Brownell and Karen Brownell Wills; grandchildren, David McCullough and his wife, Jana, and Paul McCullough and his wife, Anna, and other loving relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Raymond Brownell; sons-in-law, Richard McCullough and William "Bill" Wills; granddaughter, Elizabeth Wills; and grandson, John Wills.

Earthman Funeral Home, 6700 Ferris, Bellaire, Texas 77401, is in charge of arrangements.
