MASON CITY - Adina J. Brosz, 97, of 1037 19th St. S.W., died Tuesday (Feb. 13, 2001) at the I.O.O.F. Home.

Funeral services will be held at noon Friday at St. James Lutheran Church, Mason City, with the Rev. David Anderson officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church Friday. Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., is in charge of arrangements.

Adina was born Aug. 16, 1903, in Tripp, S.D., the daughter of Gottfried and Christina (Friederich) Bietz. Adina was baptized Sept. 6, 1903, at Dennewitz Church and confirmed March 24, 1918, in Tripp.

She married Arthur Brosz Feb. 3, 1923, in Tripp. They moved to Mason City in 1956 where Adina was a long-time member of St. James Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid and Do-Day Ladies. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and crocheting.

Adina is survived by two sons, Roland Brosz and his wife, Deloris, of Mason City, and their children, Jo Ann, Mark and Sandra, and Melvin Brosz and his wife, Mary, of Dallas, Texas, and their children, Debra, Charles, Dina, David and Dena; one daughter, Verna Anderson and her husband, Glenn, of Mason City, and their children, Michael and Jeffrey; 19 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Erna Brosz, of Tripp, S.D.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Gerhard; three brothers, Edward, Arthur and William; and three sisters, Anna, Theresa and Emelia.
