MASON CITY -- Darlene M. Brackey, of Mason City, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2015, at IOOF Home and Community Therapy Center in Mason City.

Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 6, 2015, at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapels, 126 Third St. N.E., Mason City, with Father Gehling officiating and the Rev. Dave Byrd. Burial will be at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at noon Monday, July 6, 2015, at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapels, 126 Third St. N.E., Mason City, 641-423-2372.

Memorial contributions may be left in Darlene's memory in care of her family.

Darlene was born Feb. 6, 1931 in Rockwell, daughter of Ivan and Esther Coates. Esther passed away in 1935. Ivan married Pauline Reinig in 1949 and together with Pauline's children they became one loving family. She attended Sheffield Schools and graduated from Mason City High School class of 1949.

Darlene married Dale L. Smith in 1949 in Mason City, and to this union four children were born, Cheryl, Barb, Brian and Carla. He passed away in 1970. Darlene married Dean H. Brackey on Sept. 20, 1972, in Minneapolis. Darlene worked for North Iowa Community Credit Union most recently and Stevenson's Department store selling shoes for many years.

She was a member of the Queen Rebekah Lodge, Moose Lodge, and Women's Bowling association.

Darlene enjoyed bowling, playing 500, bingo, pizza and taking care of and spending time with family and friends.

Darlene is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (Dwight) Ostercamp; daughter, Barb (Larry) Soland; Son, Brian Smith; daughter, Carla (Tim) Decker; 11 grandchildren and many great grandchildren; sisters, Roseanne Stille, Darlene and Mary Jo Reinig, Lois Sharron, Patty, Ruby, and Geneva Smith; brothers, Lester Reinig and Jim (Darlene) Reinig; along with many other extended family and friends.

Darlene was preceded in death by her husbands; parents; and brothers: Don, Russell (Jean), Kenny Reinig, and Harlan Stille; as well as many other loving extended family members.
