MASON CITY - Ruth M. Booth, 74, of Garner, formerly of 1201 S. Georgia Ave. in Mason City, died Tuesday (Oct. 17, 2000) at the Concord Care Center in Garner.

Graveside services will be held 3 p.m. today at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Mason City, with Gerald Booth Jr. officiating.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. today at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave. in Mason City.

Memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church.

Ruth M. Booth was born Oct. 30, 1925, in Clarion, the daughter of Elso and Lena Smith Steenblock. She attended schools in Belmond. She lived in the Clarion area until she was married.

She was united in marriage to Gerald L. Booth Sr. on July 11, 1945, in Mason City. They made their home in Mason City until recently moving to Garner to live at the Concord Care Center.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Left to cherish her memory include her husband, Gerald L. Booth Sr., of Garner; one son, Gerald Booth Jr. and his wife, Kay, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; daughters, Carol Davis and her husband, Gary, of Rock Falls, and Linda Johnson and her husband, David, of Blue Springs, Mo.; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Minnie Meyers and her husband, Harm, of Belmond.

She was preceded in death by her parents and nine siblings.
