MASON CITY - Martin E. Boomgarden, 90, of 304 Third St. N.E. Apt. 102 in Mason City, died Tuesday evening (Oct. 11, 2005) at the Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Fullerton Funeral Home, 123 Second St. S.E. in Mason City, with the Rev. Thomas W. Healey officiating. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Mason City with military honors accorded by the Mason City Memorial Association.

Martin Edward Boomgarden was born on March 31, 1915, to Herman and Erna (Lienemann) Boomgarden in Clarksville. Martin attended Bristol No. 3 country school near Kensett.On Oct. 23, 1938, Martin was united in marriage to Lola Burgess in Albert Lea, Minn.

Grateful for having had the privilege of sharing in Martin's life are his three children: Martin (Joanne) Boomgarden Jr. of Steamboat Springs, Colo., Ruth (John) Keller of Nampa, Idaho, and Jean Dunbar of Nora Springs; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren as well as other relatives and friends.

Preceding Martin in death are his wife, Lola Boomgarden on Feb. 7, 2001; his parents; a daughter, Sally Craig; an infant son, William Boomgarden; a grandson, Christopher Baltierra; his son-in-law, Michael Dunbar; sister, Anna Cordle; and brother, Lubbo Boomgarden.
