MASON CITY _ Howard E. Bolding, 70, of 1527 S. Wilson Ave., died Saturday (Sept. 13, 1997) at North Iowa Mercy Health Center East.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 213 N. Pennsylvania Ave., with the Rev. John Gannett officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Fullerton Patterson James Funeral Home, 123 Second St. S.E.

Those planning an expression of sympathy may direct memorials to the Howard Bolding Memorial Fund.

Howard was born April 26, 1927, the son of Clarence and Anna (Nelson) Bolding in Ruthven. The family later moved to Mason City where Howard graduated from high school.

On Feb. 4, 1950, Howard was united in marriage to Patricia Hogan in Mason City.

Howard was a mechanic who could fix anything regardless of what it was or who it was for. When he was not tinkering with his hands, he enjoyed fishing for trout, shooting pool, singing and dancing to the waltz and polka.

His grandchildren were his pride and joy and he enjoyed watching them compete in their different sporting events.

Howard was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Howard is survived by his wife, Patricia; two daughters, Nancy and her husband, Jim Luecht, and Janet and her husband, Richard "Rick" Wineman, all of Mason City; one son, Larry and his wife, Carolyn Bolding, of Mesquite, Texas; two brothers, Stanley and his wife, Karen Bolding, of Lilburn, Ga., and Francis LeRoy and his wife, Karen Bolding, of Plymouth; five grandchildren, Amber, Larry Jr. and Rachel Bolding, Ashley and Jared Luecht; and many nieces and nephews.

Howard was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Patricia Ann Bolding; and one brother, Verlyn Bolding.
