Raymond L. Bohnsack, 88, of 511 15th St. N.W., died Thursday (June 1, 1995) at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient unit, Mason City. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Hogan-Bremer Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., with the Rev. Merlin J. Ackerson of First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Clear Lake Cemetery.

Visitation will be held after 3 p.m. Sunday and until time of services Monday at the funeral chapel. Memorials may be given to the Raymond L. Bohnsack Memorial Fund.

Ray was born May 25, 1907, at Botna, a son of Herman Bohnsack and Matilda (nee) Stuhr Bohnsack.

He married Zola Hommerding on Dec. 14, 1933, at Mason City. Ray worked at the former Jacob E. Decker & Sons Meat Packing Plant part time for several years. Later he worked at Northwestern States Cement Company for 33 years before retiring.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Mason City. Ray will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Zola Bohnsack of Mason City; one daughter, Linda Karsjens and her husband, Marvin, of Mason City; two grandchildren, Ryan Karsjens and Kari Karsjens, both of Mason City; one sister, Doris Arndt of Mason City; a special brother-in-law, Nick Homerding and his wife, Mary, of El Reno, Okla.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and two sisters.
