Curtis Raymond "Ray" Bills, 50, of Mason City died Friday, August 17, 2012 at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

A funeral service for Ray will be held 2:00pm, Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church, 119 S. Georgia, Mason City with the Reverend Sean McRoberts officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.

Visitation will be held from 4pm to 7pm, Monday, August 20, 2012 at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St. NE, Mason City and will continue one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Tuesday.

The family suggests memorial contributions may be donated to the Curtis Bills Memorial Fund in care of his family, Hospice of North Iowa, or the American Cancer Society.

Curtis Raymond Bills, son of Eldon Larry and Helen (Andersen) Bills was born August 16, 1962 in Eldora, Iowa. Ray's early childhood education started at Waterloo Elementary continuing his education at the Rockwell-Swaledale Elementary. Ray was a graduate of the 1981 class at Mason City High. After graduation, he attended cooking school in Estherville, Iowa. Ray worked as a cook at the I. O. O. F. Home in Mason City and also worked at the LaHacienda II.

He was a kind gentle soul who always put others first. He always had a big smile and a kind wave for those he met. Ray was an avid Hawkeye Fan and enjoyed cheering on the Green Bay Packers. During the racing season, Ray would be at the I-35 speedway on Sunday nights in row two, middle section. He also enjoyed a good game of pool.

In the winter time, he would anxiously await snowfall so he could get his snow blower out to move snow and looked forward to sending Christmas cards. Ray always enjoyed listening to music, always finding his radio station tuned to 106.1 at a volume that would rattle the windows.

His greatest joy was his nieces, nephew, and great-nephew along with his two nephew dogs. He was the best nanny ever.

He will be dearly missed by his mother, Helen Bills; father, Eldon Larry (Linda) Bills; sisters, Christina (Steve Hrubetz) Bills and Heather (Dan) Allen; brothers, Chuck Bills and Brandon Bills; uncles, Ernie (Jean) Bills, Gary (Debbie) Bills, Jim (Debbie) Bills; aunt, Linda (Roger) Folkerds, nieces, Ashley Bills, Haley Kavaya, Sammi Jo Bills; nephew, Dalton Dean Biddick; great-nephew Austin Moore; along with numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and two aunts.
