CLEAR LAKE -- Beryl Dale Bobst, 77, of 20523 Eagle Ave,. died Friday (June 21, 1996) at North Iowa Mercy Health Center East, Mason City.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church, 112 N. Fourth St., with the Rev. Dean Hess officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. in Dumont Cemetery, Dumont, near his family members.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. Fourth St., Clear Lake, and one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.

Beryl Bobst was born at home Feb. 13, 1919, in West Fork Township, son of George and Minnie (Letzring) Bobst. He was married to Edith Buttjer on June 5, 1939, at Edina, Minn. Beryl farmed all his life in Butler, Franklin and Cerro Gordo counties, moving to Clear Lake in 1962, where he farmed until his death. He loved to fish and collect fine antiques. He especially enjoyed his horses and dogs.

Survivors include his wife, Edith Bobst of Clear Lake; two daughters, Arthena Freeseman and her husband, Gordon of Greene, and Katherine Smith and her husband, James of Clear Lake; five grandchildren, Kevin D. Freeseman of Round Lake Beach, Ill., Terri Boelts of Wellsburg, Dawn McLennan of Alexander, Bradley J. Smith and Sandra K. Smith, both of Scottsdale, Ariz.; seven great-grandchildren, Tiffany and Melanie of Round Lake Beach, Ill., Chelsea and Dillon of Wellsburg, Jamie, Jered and Jordan of Alexander; two brothers, Maurice Bobst of Minnesota, and Marvin Bobst of Iowa; four sisters, Wilma White of Minnesota, Genevieve Cervinski, Lorna McClemens and Berdean Allen, all of Iowa.

Mr. Bobst was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Delbert, Rollin and Duane; one sister, Thelma Chapman; and three half sisters.
