Raymond G. Bachellor, 97, of 400 N. Fifth St., died Sunday (April 21, 1996) at the IOOF Home, Mason City.

Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 1996, at the Clear Lake United Methodist Church with the Rev. Fred Lewis and the Rev. Bernard Olson officiating.

Raymond donated his body to the University of Iowa Anatomy Department, Iowa City. Inurnment will take place at a later time in the Clear Lake Cemetery. Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. Fourth St., is in charge of arrangements.

The family suggests memorials to the Clear Lake United Methodist Church Elevator Fund or the American Cancer Society.

Raymond was born May 5, 1898, in Antwerp, Ohio, the son of John and Evangeline (Yarger) Bachellor. He graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1924, then graduated from Garrett Biblical Institute in 1928 with a Bachelor of Divinity degree.

Raymond is survived by a daughter, Clarice Borrill of Clear Lake; two sons, Bruce Bachellor and his wife, Deone, of Des Moines, and Merlin Bachellor and his wife, Carol, of Bettendorf; daughter-in-law, Helene Bachellor of Clear Lake; grandfather of 10; and great-grandfather of six.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Paul Bachellor; his wife, Doris; a son-in-law, Ray Borrill; grandson, Larry Borrill; two brothers; and one sister.
