ELMHURST, Ill. -- Jack Accurso, 78, of Elmhurst, Ill., died Friday (April 26, 1996) at the Elmhurst Hospital, Elmhurst, Ill.

A funeral Mass was held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Alexander Catholic Church, Villa Park, Ill. Burial was in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, Ill.

Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park, Ill., was in charge of arrangements.

Jack Accurso was born Feb. 20, 1918, in Mason City, Iowa, to Charles and Tina (Tagliareno) Accurso.

He was a letter carrier for the United States Government for many years.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy.

Survivors include one brother, Anthony Accurso and his wife, Lois, of Bancroft, Iowa; and one sister, Katherine Ewy and her husband, Elwood, of Mason City, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one son, Jack Jr. "Pat" Accurso; one sister, Jennie Stephenson, and brothers, John Accurso and Joe Accurso.
