Beatrice M. Ellis, 81, of 1019 N. Rhode Island Ave., died Thursday (Nov. 9, 1995) at North Iowa Mercy Health Center.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 119 N. Pennsylvania Ave. The Rev. David Shogren of Wesley United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today and until time of service Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to Wesley United Methodist Church.

Beatrice "Bea"' M. Ellis was born Sept. 21, 1914, at Hansel, the daughter of Harley E. Seward and Iva S. (nee) Tucker Seward. She moved to Mason City at the age of 5. She graduated from Mason City High School in 1932. She worked at Jacob E. Deckers until she was married to Arthur W. Ellis on Sept. 3, 1943, in Mason City. She worked as a bookkeeper for A and B Autobody, which her husband was part owner.

She was a charter member of Wesley United Methodist Church. She enjoyed getting together with her high school classmates on a regular basis at breakfast once a month. She also enjoyed ceramics, reading, knitting and crocheting.

Survivors include one daughter, Susan Findlay, and husband, Gary, Pensacola, Fla.; two brothers, Kenny Seward, Nora Springs, and George Seward, LeGrand; one sister, Edna James Hinman, Normal, Ill.; three grandchildren, Christian, Amy and Jennifer; two great-grandchildren, Ashley and Randy; several nieces and nephews, and her close friends, Joan and Robert Watson, and Robert and Vivian Morris.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband.
