ROCKFORD - Sue Ellen Eckenrod, 42, of Mason City, formerly of Rockford, died Friday, Oct. 26, at Muse Norris Hospice, Mason City, of cancer.

She was born March 13, 1965, in Mason City, daughter of Ambrose and Elvira Biskynis Rooney. She married Carl L. Eckenrod on Oct. 3, 1987, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Dougherty.

Mrs. Eckenrod was a 1983 graduate of Rockford Senior High School and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting from Wartburg College, Waverly, in 1987. She worked at Turner & Renner, Mason City, as an accountant, and later at Anco Inc. as business manager. For the last 15 years she was business manager for Newman Catholic Schools, Mason City.

Survivors include: her husband; two daughters, Alexandria and Carlie, at home; a son, Austin, at home; her father, of Rockford; seven brothers, Gary Rooney and Jim (Vickie) Rooney, both of Sheffield, Tom ( Jennifer) Rooney of Hampton, Larry (Barb) Rooney, Pat (Gwen) Rooney and Matt (Heidi) Rooney, all of Rockford, and Dan (Stacy) Rooney of Rudd; and five sisters, Marlene (Merlyn) Truax, Jane (John) McKee and Karen Rooney and Steve Hirsch, all of Sheffield, Barb (Doyle) Butkiewicz of Madison, Wis., and Anne (Mark) Chambers of Marble Rock.

Preceded in death by: her mother; and a brother, Ronald Rooney.

Services: 11:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, with burial in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery, both in Mason City. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the church, with a 7 p.m. rosary followed by a Scriptural wake service. Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, Mason City, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials: may be directed to Newman Catholic Schools to establish a scholarship in her memory.
