MRS. BERT LANE,
FORMER RESIDENT OF
MASON CITY DIES

Mrs. Bert D. Lane, former Mason City resident died Wednesday evening at Santa Barbara, Cal., where she had made her home for many years. The body is being brought to Mason City for burial and will arrive Monday afternoon. Mrs. Lane, the former Kathryn Essex, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Essex of this community, is survived by her husband, now business manager if the Santa Barbara News-Press and formerly a member of the display advertising staff of the Mason City Globe-Gazette. Also surviving are her step-mother, Mrs. Thomas Essex of Mason City; one sister, *Mrs. Erwin (Frances) Prettyman, St. Paul; 3 brothers, Michael E. Essex, Fond du Lac, Wis., James Essex, Miles City, Mont. and William Essex, Mason City.
