DIES AT HOME

Funeral Arrangements
for Retired Engineer
Are Not Complete

Thomas Essex, 84, died at his home, 135 Twenty-eighth street southwest, at 4 o'clock Monday morning, following a lingering illness. He had been a resident of Mason City for a number of years.

Mr. Essex was born Dec. 2, 1857, in Illinois. He was an engineer on the Chicago Great Western railroad, having retired in 1936.

Surviving are Mr. Essex are his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Anna Dwan and Mrs. G.I. Prettyman, St. Paul, and Mrs. Kathryn Lane, Santa Barbara, Cal., and two sons, Michael Essex, Fond du Lac, Wis., and James Essex, Miles City, Mont.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete. The body was taken to the Meyer funeral home.
