Park D. Thomason, 80, of Miami, Okla., formerly of Rock Falls, Iowa, died at 10:32 p.m. Thursday (Feb. 29, 1996) at the Baptist Regional Health Center.

Funeral services were held on Monday, March 4, 1996, at the Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home Chapel, Miami, Okla., with the Rev. Albert Amos officiating. Burial was in GAR Cemetery, with graveside military rites by the Northeastern Oklahoma Veterans Funeral Detail.

Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home of Miami, Okla., was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Dan McClung, Arthur Greene, Mark Jordan, Jim McSweeney, Denny Johnson and Gary Dunton.

Park D. Thomason was born June 7, 1915, at Chariton, Iowa, to Park and Fern (Vawter) Thomason.

Park Thomason was a 1933 graduate of Rock Falls High School. He was a resident of Rock Falls, Iowa, before going into the service in 1941.

He lived in Kansas and moved to Miami, Okla., in 1987 from San Bernardino, Calif. He retired from the United States Air Force on Aug. 31, 1963, after serving for 22 years as a master sergeant.

He was a member of New Hope Christian Church and the Retired Military Personnel.

Suvivors include his wife, Lois Thomason, of the home; two daughters, Ann McSweeney, of Miami, Okla., and Kay Jordan of Blue Springs, Mo.; three sisters, Dorothy Dunton and Marvel Thomason, both of Naples, Fla., and Betty Hollingsworth, of Des Moines, Iowa; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
