Eleanor worked in Portland, Oregon, Minneapolis and the Meservey Bank before returning to work the family farm with her dad. He was so proud she returned to work on the farm.

She loved a large garden and gave away many vegetables and flowers. Eleanor also enjoyed traveling and made trips to China, Greece, South America, Denmark and many other places.
