Helen Ginder, 74, of 433 28th St. S.W., Mason City, died Saturday (Feb. 3, 1996) at the Heritage Care Center.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Hogan-Bremer Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E.

February 05, 1996 - Helen Ginder, 74, of 433 28th St. S.W., died Saturday (Feb. 3, 1996) at Heritage Care Center.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, 2502 S. Jefferson Ave., with the Rev. DuWayne Dalen officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hogan Bremer Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.

Memorials may be given to the Helen I. Ginder memorial fund.

Helen Irene Ginder was born Dec. 29, 1921, at Clay Butte Township, Dunn County, N.D., a daughter of Hubert and Ida (Motland) During. She married Rufus W. Ginder on March 21, 1945, at Osage.

She attended Plymouth schools, graduating from Plymouth High School. She attended junior college at Mason City, and later attended Drake University on Saturdays and in the summer until she earned enough credits to graduate.

Helen taught kindergarten through eighth grade in rural Mitchell County from 194357. She then taught second grade at the former McKinley Elementary School, Mason City, from 196075. From 1975 until retiring in 1983, Helen taught second grade at Washington Elementary School, Mason City.

She was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Mason City.

She is survived by her husband, Rufus Ginder of Mason City; two sons, Del J. Ginder and Jerry Ginder and his wife, Cheryl, all of Mason City; four grandchildren, Julie and her husband, Troy Bales of Phoenix, Ariz., Jan and her husband, Scott Williams of Des Moines, Brian and Kevin Ginder, both of Mason City; and one greatgrandson, Jeffrey Bales of Phoenix, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.
