Mary R. Durkin, 85, 507 Fourth St. S.E., died Friday (Feb. 2, 1996) at home.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 302 Fifth St. S.E., Mason City, with the Rev. James E. Hayes, officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hogan-Bremer Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., with a St. Cecelia's circle rosary at 4 p.m. Sunday, followed by a 7 p.m. scriptural wake service. In honor of Mary's wishes, her casket will be closed.

Memorials may be given to St. Joseph Catholic Church or Hospice of North Iowa in memory of Mary.

Mary R. Durkin was born Oct. 18, 1910 in Mason City, a daughter of Daniel and Agnes (Donahue) Durkin.

She graduated from St. Joseph Catholic Schools and she later attended Hamilton Business College, Mason City.

Mary was the office manager at Coca-Cola Bottling Company, Mason City, for many years, retiring in 1978.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and St. Cecelia's Circle at church. She was a former member of the Pilot Club, Mason City.

Mary is survived by her sister, Lucille Durkin, Mason City; two cousins, Loretta Julum, Mason City, and Jean Lawrence, White Bear Lake, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Marcella Durkin.
