Mrs. Katherine Linnea "Kay"' Dorseth, 85, of 1101 Fifth Ave. S., Clear Lake, died Thursday (Nov. 23, 1995) at her home.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Zion Lutheran Church, 112 N. Fourth St., with the Rev. Jonathan Swenson officiating. Interment will be in the Clear Lake Cemetery.

Visitation will begin 2 p.m. Sunday at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. Fourth St.

The family suggests memorials to Zion Lutheran Church or Opportunity Village.

Kay was born June 3, 1910, in Minneapolis, Minn., the daughter of John August and Linnea Hedvig (Eklund) Johnson.

She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis. She worked as a supervisor for Northwestern Bell in Minneapolis.

Kay married Walter E. Dorseth on Sept. 14, 1940, in Northwood. They lived in Minneapolis until 1949, when they moved to Spencer. In 1950, they moved to Clear Lake where they have lived ever since.

Kay was a volunteer for the Iowa Commission for the Blind and was certified as a braille transcriber.

She taught Sunday school and vacation Bible school at Zion Lutheran Church, was a former den mother for Cub Scouts, belonged to the Patience Circle at Zion Lutheran Church, was a member of the Library Reading Club, Clear Lake Women's Club, Sons of Norway and Zion Lutheran Church.

Kay is survived by her husband, Walter E. Dorseth of Clear Lake; a son, Dale A. Dorseth and his wife, Sheryl of Shenandoah; three grandchildren, Emily, Erin and Paul Dorseth, all of Shenandoah; and seven nieces and six nephews.
