Dallas, Texas — Denise (Francis) Luecht, 61, died unexpectedly at home in Dallas, Texas, Wednesday, April 24, 2013.

Graveside services will be held Friday, May 3, at 11:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Rockwell, Iowa. Everyone is welcome. Lunch will be served afterward at Sacred Heart School in Rockwell.

Denise Louise Francis was born on July 9, 1951, in Sibley, Iowa, to Delores (Kollasch) and George Francis. The family later moved to Rockwell, Iowa, where she attended Sacred Heart Elementary and Newman High School.

Denise married Gary Luecht in Rockwell in August 1968. They had two children, Craig and Stacey. They moved to Dallas, where they worked and raised their family. They later divorced. Denise received her medical assistant degree and continued to work in the medical field for many years.

She enjoyed reading, shopping and sharing stories but especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. As a devoted daughter she phoned her mother in Iowa nightly. Denise would travel back to Iowa every January for her mother’s birthday, whatever the weather, in hopes of being snowed in. She also returned each summer to visit with family and friends.

Denise was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, godmother and cherished friend. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. A gentle soul has passed.

She is survived by her children, Craig (Debbie) Luecht of Dallas, and daughter Stacey (Chris) Pruitt of Heath, Texas; her grandchildren, Tyler and Austin Pruitt, and Reed and Lauren Luecht.

Mother Delores Francis, Rockwell; siblings Dan (Marcia) Francis, Arvada, Colo; Susan (Richard) True, Mason City; Patricia Francis, San Francisco, Calif.; Dennis Francis, Rockwell; Mike (Sheryl) Francis, Mason City; Karen (John) Hogen, Mason City; Matt (Christine) Francis, Hudson, Wis.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Denise was preceded in death by her father George Francis, brothers Phillip and Duane and niece Kathryn Hogen and special buddy Opie Kitty.
