Thursday, September 14, 2000ROCKWELL - Dorothy M. Gaffney Ingledue, 87, of Sebring, Fla., formerly of Rockwell, died Monday afternoon (Sept. 11, 2000) at the Palms, in Sebring, Fla.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 15, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Leo Riley officiating. Interment will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery.
Visitation will begin after 5 p.m. today at the Fullerton Family of Funeral Homes, 120 S. Third St., Rockwell, with a parish rosary at 7 p.m. led by the Rev. Vic Groh.
Dorothy was born on April 23, 1913, in Rockwell, the daughter of Elmer H. and Lillian (Kelly) Gibson. She graduated from the Rockwell Schools.
In 1930 she was married to John "Jack" Gaffney and to this union were born three children. Later she was wed to Carl Ingledue in 1970.
Dorothy worked in sales for the Sears Roebuck company, living in Des Moines, Omaha and Cleveland. She then started a successful company called Gibson Gals which was a nursing registry. She continued this business until her death. In 1990 she moved to Sebring Florida to be near her daughter.
Those thankful in sharing the life of Dorothy include her daughter, Anne J. and her husband, Tony Castro, of Sebring, Fla; two sons, John R. "Dick" and his wife, Lucille Gaffney, of Swaledale, and Robert F. and his wife, Frances Gaffney, of Tularosa, N.M.; 11 grandchildren, Randall, Edward, Terry, Jeannie, Michael, Karen, Vicky, Denise, Paul, Kurt and Robert; many great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert and his wife, Marge Gibson, of Mason City; one aunt, Lou Sturges, of Rockwell; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl; and one brother, William Gibson.
