March 18, 1891 ~ November, 1972

ROCKWELL - John Hogan, 81, died Wednesday at a Rockwell nursing home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Rev. Frank Benda will be celebrant and the Rev. Raymond S. Bohrer will be con-celebrant.

The Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Hogan-Bremer Colonial Chapel and a parish wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Friends may call at the chapel until 9:30 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be at the Sacred Heart Cemetry.

He was born March 18, 1891, at Dougherty, the son of James and Mary (Murphy) Hogan. He attended rural schools at Dougherty. On Nov. 10, 1924, he married Mary Scholl at Rockwell. He was a veteran of World War I.

Mr. and Mrs. Hogan lived in Dougherty until 1932 when they moved to Rockwell, and had lived there since that time. He was employed first with Standard Oil Co. then with Mobil Oil. For 10 years before his retirement, he was a school bus driver for the Sacred Heart schools.

Survivor include his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Mary Catherine) Goggin, San Diego, Calif.; three grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Nellie McEvoy, Mason City; and one brother, Leo, Chicago, Ill.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
