Services to be at Holy Family Church

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary I Downing, 81, who died at a local hospital Wednesday, following a lingering illness, will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m. at the Holy Catholic Church with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Arthur J. Breen officiating.

Mrs. Downing had been a resident of Cerro Gordo County for the past 75 years. She was born Dec. 8, 1869, in County Donegal, Ireland. She came to Mason City from Dougherty township in 1875.

The Rosary will be said at the family home, 514 Washington N.W. at 8 p.m. Thursday for both the parish and Sacred Heart Guild. Friends may call at the family home after 3 p.m. Thursday. Interment will be at the Sacred Heart Cemetery at Rockwell. The Patterson-James Funeral Home in charge.

Surviving are a son, Daniel, 4 daughters, Agatha and Ann, Mason City, Mrs. W.L. Pugh, Holyoke, Colorado, and Mrs. Vincent E Tiernan, Allison, and 5 grandsons and a granddaughter, and two brothers. M.J. McGee, Dougherty, and Joseph McGee, Modesto, California.
