PLAN RITES FOR MRS. GEORGE PETERSEN

CLEAR LAKE – Mrs. George Edward Petersen, 40, died suddenly Friday evening in a Cedar Rapids hospital of pneumonia. She had entered the hospital earlier the same day.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Wilcox Funeral Home. Pastor Richard Ellingson of Zion Lutheran Church will be in charge. Burial will be in Thornton Cemetery.

Mrs. Petersen was the former June Evelyn Fredericks, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Fredericks. She was born in Clear Lake and attended Clear Lake schools. She was married to George Petersen of Thornton in October 1940. They lived in Clear Lake until two years ago when they moved to Cedar Rapids.

Mr. and Mrs. Fredericks moved to Cedar Rapids last fall. Both Mr. Petersen and Mr. Fredericks had been employed by the Mason City Implement Co.

Survivors include her husband, her parents, one son, Michael, with the U.S. Navy in Japan; one sister, Mrs. Carl Thorenson, Cedar Rapids, and one brother, Andrew Fredericks, Marion. She was preceded in death by one son in infancy.
