LEOTA W. DUNCAN

CLEAR LAKE – Leota W. Duncan, 88, died Tuesday (Nov. 15, 1988) at Oakwood Care Center, Clear Lake, of natural causes.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at United Methodist Church, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Bernard Olson officiating. Burial will be in the Clear Lake Cemetery.

The family requests memorials be given to the Leota Duncan Memorial Fund.

Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. Fourth St., Clear Lake.

She was born Dec. 22, 1899, in Valley, Wis., the daughter of Thomas and Minnie (Obert) Howard. She was raised in Valley, Wis., and graduated from Valley High School.

She married Jesse Duncan on Dec. 22, 1920, in Mason City. They farmed in Wisconsin for two years and moved to Rogersville, Mo., in 1922 and lived there until 1936 when they moved to Clear Lake. She spent many years taking care of elderly people in Mason City and Clear Lake areas.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Clear Lake, United Methodist Women and Grandmothers Club.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Harry (Bette) Ginkens, Clear Lake; three granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, three sons, five sisters, one half-sister, four brothers and one half-brother.
