RUTH ANN MOELLER

CLEAR LAKE – Mrs. Ruth Ann Moeller, 79, of Long Beach Mobile Home Park, Clear Lake, died Monday (Dec. 10, 1990) at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Mason City.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Edward Shields officiating. Burial will be in Clear Lake Cemetery.

Visitation is after 3 p.m. Thursday at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. Fourth St., Clear Lake, with a Scriptural wake service at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

Mrs. Moeller was born Aug 9, 1911, in Chicago, Ill., to John and Laura (Morweiser) Anderson.

She attended school in Waterloo. She moved to Clear Lake in 1923 and graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1929. She attended Mason City Junior College and the Greg Business School in Chicago, Ill.

In 1931, she moved back to Clear Lake and worked for Ed Boyle as a secretary until the mid-1930s.

She married Arnold D. Moeller on Aug. 4, 1934, in Mason City. She ran the Moeller Shoe and Clothing Store while her husband was in the service.

She enjoyed golfing, bowling and playing bridge. They had spent the last 12 winters in Fort Myers, Fla.

She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, the VFW Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, Crescent Club and P.E.O. She was a charter member of Todays Club.

She is survived by her husband, Arnold; two sons, Michael Moeller and his wife, Beverly, Sioux City, and Dr. Steven Moeller and his wife, Mary, Clear Lake; one sister, Delores Beedle, Great Falls, Mont.; six grandchildren, Ann, John, Richard, Stephanie, Mark and Michael Moeller; and a great-granddaughter, Michelle Moeller.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, John Anderson.
