PASSES AWAY MONDAY AT 9:00 A.M. - FUNERAL TUESDAY AFTERNOON

D. B. Herreman was born in Ohio, Aug. 12, 1835 and moved with his parents to Columbus County, Wis., when but a small boy where he grew to manhood and on Nov. 11, 1857 he was married to Miss Polly Aldrich, who passed away, Dec. 9, 1916.

They were the parents of six children, three sons and three daughters – Esther Ann dying when 8 months of age, Alvin Eugene dying between two and three years of age and Purdy may dying when 15 years old, and Warren H., Wallace D., and Cora Janette Harding survive, all living in Clear Lake.

On Feb. 13, 1865 Mr. Herreman enlisted in Co. I, Forty-ninth Wisconsin Infantry and served until the close of the Civil war.

He with his family settled in Lincoln township, this county, in October 1882 and lived on their farm there until September 1, 1891 when they removed to Clear Lake, where they resided until their decease.

Mr. Herreman was a devoted and esteemed member of the Tom Howard Post, No. 101, G. A. R., in which he held the position of commander and other prominent offices and will be sadly missed by his old army comrades.

The funeral services were conducted Tuesday by the Rev. W. D. Hartsough at 2:30 p.m. at the late home in the presence of a goodly number of comrades, members of the W. R. C. and S. of V’s, and a large assembly of neighbors and sympathizing friends.

Mr. Herreman was an esteemed citizen intensely loyal to his country, his comrades, his friends and his family and will be greatly missed in the home, in the Post and in the community.

The remains were interred in the Clear Lake cemetery beside his wife and deceased children.
