Rites Set for Evelyn Bemiss, 59

Funeral services for Miss Evelyn Bemiss, 59, of 16 14th Place NW, who died Saturday at a Mason City nursing home, will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Major Memorial Chapel.

She was born October 29, 1912 in Mason City, the daughter of Sydney and Leona (Beebee) Bemiss. She spent most of her life in Mason City. She was a member of the Daughters of Union Veterans.

Miss Bemis is survived by seven sisters, Mrs. O. S. (Gladys) Belseth, Mrs. Arthur (Lois) Rickens, Mrs. Dick (Lila) O'Donnell, Mrs. Roger (Lily) Arndt and Miss Faye Bemiss, all of Mason City, Mrs. Walter (Phyllis) Thomas, Sunnyvle, Calif., and Mrs. Paul (Iris) Carey, Alexandria, Va.

She was preceded in death by one sister, one brother, and one niece.

The Rev. Kenneth Krahn, pastor of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, will officiate. Organist will be Mrs. Wallace C. Allen, and soloist, Scott Freeman.

Flowers will be handled by Mrs. Paul Freeman and Mrs. Morris Hauge.

Pallbearers will be James and Sidney Riekens, Dick O'Donnell, Pat Shannon, William Otterman and Kenneth Johnston. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Major-Erickson Funeral Home form 3 p.m. Monday to time of services.
