THOMAS ‘VINCE’ MCGUIRE

CLEAR LAKE – Funeral services for Thomas Vincent “Vince” McGuire, 77, of 208 6th Ave. S., will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Clear Lake.

Mr. McGuire died Friday (Dec. 30, 1983) at his home.

The Rev. James Duster will officiate at the service and burial will be in Clear Lake Cemetery.

Visitation begins at 2 this afternoon at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, where a parish wake service will be at 7:30 tonight.

The family requests any memorials be given to Hospice of Cerro Gordo County or the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church Charity Fund.

Mr. McGuire was born June 20, 1906, in Sterling, Ill., to Peter J. and Ellen A. (Welch) McGuire. A Clear Lake resident 70 years, he attended Clear Lake schools and graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1923.

He married Rita C. Nash on May 28, 1923.

He was employed by Great Lakes Pipeline Co. (now Williams Pipeline Co.) for 36 years, retiring in 1976. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Rita; one son, Thomas J. McGuire, Beeville, Texas; a daughter, Kathleen Olson, Albuquerque, N.M.; a sister, Mrs. Florence Doyle, Clear Lake; a sister-in-law, Alice McGuire, Mason City, and six grandchildren.
