G. E. MCELDOON SERVICES HELD
RITES CONDUCTED AT LOCAL FUNERAL HOME

Funeral services for George Edward McEldoon, 64, chief engineer of the Mason City school system, were held Tuesday afternoon at the McAuley and Son chapel, with the Rev. R. L. Williams, pastor of the First Christian church, officiating.

Mrs. Harold Snyder sang “The Lord’s Prayer.” Mrs. Roscoe Patton accompanied at the organ. Miss Hazel Coons and Mrs. Hazel McCullough were in charge of flowers.

Custodians of the Mason City schools attended the services in a body.

Harding Lodge No. 649 A.F & A.M. held the Masonic gravesite interment services, with J. M. Morris, worshipful master, in charge, and C. E. Bryant, acting chaplain.

Attending the services from out of the city were Mrs. Charles Lezama, Chicago; Mrs. Ernie Ubenhour, Little Falls, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Paul McEldoon and Mrs. Oscar McEldoon, Clear Lake.

The schoolboard acted as honorary pallbearers, including Jay E. Decker, Howard O’Leary, Raymond Zack, Dr. George Crabb, Curtis Amen, R.F. Clough and F.J. Olson.

Active pallbearers were Bernard Main, Harold Snyder, Charles Kraft, Charles Nutton, John Thompson and Vincent Moon. Interment was at the Clear Lake cemetery. The McAuley and Son funeral home was in charge.

Transcriber’s Note – George Edward “Ed” McEldoon was born 1885, died 1950 and was buried in the Clear Lake Cemetery, Section C Row 4.
