LAKE FISHERMAN DIES SUDDENLY
ZEMAN MCGOON SUCCUMBS IN MASON CITY FOLLOWING MAJOR OPERATION

CLEAR LAKE, Feb. 25 – Zeman McGoon, 65 years old, and an old-time resident of Clear Lake, died at 4 o’clock Saturday morning at the Park hospital in Mason City. Mr. McGoon submitted to a major operation several days ago from which he did not recover.

He had been engaged as a professional seiner and spent the summer months operating the boats for the Park company. During the past summer season, Mr. McGoon was in charge of the Ritz passenger boat. He also worked with the icing crew as foreman of the channel workers on this year’s supply of ice.

Mr. McGoon leaves his wife to mourn his death. The body will lie in state at the Ward Funeral parlors until Sunday morning. No definite funeral arrangements had been completed by the family at noon, but it is expected that the services will be held at the Methodist church Monday afternoon with the Rev. J.R. Tumbleson in charge. Burial will be made in the Clear Lake cemetery.
