MINNIE SMITH DIES AT HOME

CLEAR LAKE – Minnie A. Smith, 85, died Sunday evening at her home, 114 3rd Ave. N. She had been in poor health for some time.

Mrs. Smith was born Jan. 13, 1871 in Belgard, Germany, the daughter of William and Bertha Hintz. While a young girl she came to America and settled in the Clear Lake vicinity, remaining here for 70 years. She was married to John Smith in 1908.

Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. A.E. (Lois) Nelson, with whom she made her home; a sister, Mrs. H.N. Halvorson, Clear Lake, and three grandchildren. Her husband preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Ward Funeral Home. The Rev. W.R. Noland will officiate. Burial will be in Clear Lake Cemetery.

SERVICES FOR MRS. SMITH ARE HELD

CLEAR LAKE – Funeral services for Mrs. John Smith 114 3rd Ave. N., were held Wednesday afternoon at the Ward Funeral Home. The Rev. W.R. Noland officiated and burial was in the Clear Lake Cemetery.

Flowers were arranged by Mrs. O.M. Amundson and Mrs. K.R. Rogers. Mrs. B.B. Bailey was organist. Pallbearers were Harold Thompson, Oscar Amundson, L.W. Sherman, Harold Crane, Earl Miller and Elmer Luscomb.

Mrs. Smith was a member of the Methodist Church, Rebekah Lodge and Eastern Star and an honorary member of Sorosis Club.
