W. H. SMITH DIES AT HOME

CLEAR LAKE – William henry Smith, 75, died Sunday night at his home in Oakwood Park after being ill for several weeks. He was a retired farmer, having lived in the Clear Lake community for 44 years.

He was born Jan. 12, 1884, in Devonshire, England, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Smith.

He is survived by his wife, Lucretia; six children, Mrs. Carl (Ella) Bruchner, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Leslie (June) Green and Mrs. Robert (Mavis) Dunlap, Clear Lake, and Dale, George and LeRoy Smith, Mason City; also 26 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and a brother and sister in England.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Bonnie Lee Marson in February.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at the Wilcox Funeral Home.
