EDWIN H. NICHOLS

Services were held in Apache Junction, Ariz., Wednesday, Nov. 7, 1984, for Edwin H. Nichols who died Nov. 4. Burial was in Orland, Calif.

Born July 23, 1901 on the family farm in Mr. Vernon Township to Alice (Hayward) and Charles Ludwig Nichols. He graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1918, attended Iowa State University and worked as a mechanic in area garages. During WWII he was employed by Douglas Aircraft in California. He married Bessie Zastra then returned to Clear Lake and operated Nichols Body Shop until retirement in 1959. Since that time he has resided in Apache Junction.

He was preceded in death by Bessie and two sisters. Survivors include his wife, Olive, two brothers, John C. and Robert L., and one sister, Marjorie Caffrey, all of Clear Lake, and a stepdaughter, Betty Algood of Oskaloosa, Iowa
