MRS. JOHN E. (VIDA) LARSON

Mrs. John E. (Vida) Larson, 87, longtime Clear Lake residence, died Monday, March 20, at a Mason City Hospital.

Funeral services are being held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 23 at the Ward-Van Slyke Funeral Home. Rev. Kenneth Ubbelohde of the Congregational Church is officiating and interment is in the Clear Lake Cemetery.

Vida (Genette) Wald was born May 21, 1890 at Forest City, the daughter of C.W. and Christie (Issacs) Wald. She was educated in Forest City and later moved to Clear Lake where she worked for the telephone company.

She was married to John E. (Jack) Larson on June 19, 1912 at Mason City. They lived in Clear Lake where Mr. Larson was in the grocery business.

In 1928 they moved to Northwood where he continued the grocery business until moving to Des Moines in 1940.

In 1956 they retired and moved to California, returning to Clear Lake in 1964.

Larson preceded her in death in 1967.

Mrs. Larson had been in nursing homes the past two years.

Surviving are three sons, Jack Warren Larson, Clear Lake, Gordon Larson, Garden Grove, Ca. and Max Larson, of Ottumwa, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Sonksen, Clear Lake.

Mrs. Larson was a member of the Congregational Church.

Mrs. Tom Treloar is the organist. Pallbearers are, E.A. Gene Thompsen, A.W. Schultz, Clarke Pollock, Howard and Robert Cash and Hyle Lowman.
