VIOLA BAKER

Viola Ruth Baker, 77, of 210 N. 9th St., Clear Lake, died Wednesday, Dec. 23, at the IOOF Home in Mason City, Iowa.

Funeral services were Monday, Dec. 28, 1992, at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Clear Lake. The Rev. Fred Lewis officiated. Burial was in the Clear Lake Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials be given to the Viola Ruth Baker memorial Fund.

She was born June 5, 1915 on Sunny Crest Farm in Clear Lake, the daughter of L.C. LuVerne Charles Baker and Gertrude (Wilson) Baker. She graduated from Lake Township Rural School and Clear Lake High School Normal Training Course. She attended Mason City Junior College and the University of Northern Iowa. She graduated after completing the two year primary course. She taught elementary school in the towns of Brooklyn, Colwell and Garner, Iowa until 1946.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Clear Lake.

She is survived by two sisters, Annie and Mildred Baker, both of Clear Lake, as well as many cousins and special friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and four infant brothers (two sets of twins).

Pallbearers were Michael Baker, James Sivwright, Richard Dean, William Brandau, Alan Haight, Vergil Eness.
